PLN15 Kid shot

In the article Robbery suspect killed by Aurora cop "a kid was shot for running out of a house and pointing a gun at police" authorities said. "Neighbors called the cops about a possible drug dealing at the house and have complaining for quite some time" said one neighbor. He said " I've called and reported it four times". They thought it was a drug deal because they said they saw a white car come and go. A woman came to the home and spoke to police. "I need for someone to tell me my son is OK," she said to police. A man came to the same home and yelled at police.
"That's my house," he yelled. "Ya'll shot my little brother. My little brother is dead."

This article relates to me because one day when I was having and air soft war down at a creek a cop pulled me over because he saw me with a metal stock of a gun sticking out of my backpack with a ski mask in my pocket. He told me to get on my knees and stick my hands out. he came up and emptied my backpack and told me sorry for the misconvienence. I'm glad I didn't get shot.

T-Chris- thats awesome that you got pulled aside by a cop who thought you were a killer! this is a really sad story but this is mainly the kids fault because he was stupid enough to point something that looks like a gun at an officer. Good job Tanner!

Tanner-

That really sucks that that happened. And I am so glad you didn’t get shot either lol. But you did a great job looking at the auidence and everything.

Good job talking. Just try to look at the audience more. I think that the kid should not have come out with a gun.

tanner-
you gave a lot of details on the story and you explained it well. i also think its great that you made a connection to your PLN. overall great job.

good job, i think they should just have a worrnying on the gun and if they do cut it off its there fault.

I think that the kid was being stupid. If I was a police officer I would be scared If someone pointed a gun at me. I would freak.

Good Job- i had the same thing happen to me when i went to an airsoft war. I think that there should be a big difference between a fake gun and a real gun so that nothing happens to the innocent.

This is a strong topic and to answer your I think kids should be a sertain age and have places where it is aloud and not in public.

That same thing happened to me witht the airsoft. Its a fun sport but then agian it can become dangerous. Kids no how to use guns.

Tanner- I like this topic because I like the arguements about crime and violence. That is what I do all my PLN's on crime and violence. That's funny that happened to you. I think you need to have restricted areas that you can do this in. I think you should be able to play it just not in public.

Mr.T, I think it is horrible that this kid was shot, even though he was shot but he should not have pointed a gun at a cop. I think the guns should be easier to distinguish. Nice job! :)

Tanner,
Good presentation. the only thing that i would recomend is to look more at the audience and relax a little more. Good story and good organization.

Tanner- Good job presenting, try not to look at your notecards so much, I think that people should carry airsoft and paitball guns out in the public, I think there should be a specific area for it. Good job

Great topic, you spoke very well, also way to connect. To answer your question if the person is responisable than why not, it's not like someones going to die haveing a little bit of fun.

T-Pain: Good job! This is kind of wierd that the kid would be shot because he was playing with an air soft gun. I think that it should be illegal in city areas to have an air soft gun or paintball. I think it should be ok in your backyard or in the forest or something. But anyways, good job on your presentation. Try to keep more eye contact with the audience though! Good job!

Tanner,
I think paintball and airsoft wars should be in a designated area to keep everyone safe. Your presentation provided a lot of information. I think you need just a little bit more eye contact, but overall you did a great job!

I liked your topic it was really good. Good job talking to us and speaking in a clear voice. I also liked how you made this article connect to you. You had a great question.

You had really good eye contact and I like that you picked this topic. I think that if guns are used wrong there should be more severe consequences for it. Good Job! :]

Tanner,
You brought out a really good topic on gun safety. There has been much controversy in the Supreme Court about it. You did a really good job on preparing your presentation. My only suggestion is to look at the class more instead of looking at your note cards. I liked your question because it led to a lot of class discussion. Good job!

Tanner- You had a very good start presenting your topic. You explained the situation very well so that we all knew what was going on. You also talked at a good pace, so it wasn't to short or long. Also, lots of detail and connections with self, i think that gave it more personality!
